Our History

1896 - McCourt Label Cabinet Company opens for business in the rear of O'Donnell's Grocery Store in Bradford, Pennsylvania.  The company manufactures druggists' cabinets.
1900s -  U.S. patent is filed for "Druggist Label Holder" by Newton W. McCourt.
1910s - McCourt is established as a nationwide supplier of drug store labels.
1920s - Manufacturing plant is relocated to a larger facility in Bradford.
1930s - McCourt's product lines are expanded to include label applicators.
1940s - U.S. patent is obtained for a prescription filing cabinet.
1950s - Services are expanded to commercial businesses such as General Electric.
1960s - First flexographic printing presses are used to manufacture pressure sensitive prescription labels.  Label cabinets for pharmacies are discontinued.
1970s - A high speed label applicator is developed for Kendall Oil Company.
1980s - Computerization leads to the creation of data processing labels.  McCourt's manufacturing plant is moved to Lewis Run, Pennsylvania.
1990s - McCourt celebrates its 100th Anniversary in 1996.  The art department is converted to digital processes.  ISO quality systems are implemented.

Today - As an ISO 9001:2000 registered company, McCourt Label's mission is to provide our customers with the highest levels of quality, delivery, service and product value in the industry.  All McCourt employees are involved in training and continuous improvement programs to assure that your needs are understood and fulfilled.
